I started Bearbridge because I believed the UK tax market deserved a recruiter who genuinely understood the work. Before moving into recruitment, I spent years immersed in the tax profession, earning my CTA qualification and working alongside tax professionals at every level, from newly qualified advisors to heads of tax at FTSE 100 companies.

That background changes everything about how I recruit. When a Tax Partner tells me they need someone who understands the commercial nuances of partnership profit-sharing arrangements, I don't need a brief. I've lived that work. When a Senior Manager asks whether the culture at a particular firm is genuinely supportive of career development, I can answer honestly because I understand the dynamics of tax teams from the inside.

Bearbridge is deliberately boutique. I don't operate a volume model. Every search is consultative, every shortlist is curated, and every recommendation is grounded in genuine understanding, both of the role and the individual. My network has been built over a decade of relationships across law firms, accountancy practices, Big 4, mid-tier, and in-house tax functions.

I believe the best recruitment relationships are long-term ones. Many of the candidates I placed five years ago now come to me as clients when they're hiring for their own teams. That cycle of trust is what Bearbridge is built on.
